Adaptive SuperTrend
Adapt the trend line to volatility and mark changes in direction
View full chartIndicator overview
The indicator groups recent ATR values into high, medium and low volatility clusters, then uses the current cluster center to calculate SuperTrend. Machine learning here means K-means clustering, not a probability forecast.
Read price relative to the line, look for direction changes, and use the volatility table for context. Levels 3, 2 and 1 mean high, medium and low volatility, not signal strength.
The line and arrows can change before the candle closes. The original alert conditions require a confirmed candle; notification delivery is not yet available.
Adding the indicator or changing the timeframe loads earlier history before drawing results. Missing or unstable history is reported instead of displaying a cold calculation. Cross-platform comparisons require matching OHLC, timeframe, trading session and parameters. Sign in to use this indicator
How to read the chart
- Turquoise line
- Drawn where the close is above SuperTrend; colors are configurable
- Red line
- Drawn where the close is below SuperTrend
- ▲ / ▼ arrows
- ▲ marks a bearish-to-bullish shift; ▼ marks the opposite shift, at the SuperTrend price
- Levels 3 / 2 / 1
- High, medium and low volatility, not win rates or signal scores
- Gradient fill
- Connects the candle body midpoint to the trend line
- Cluster table
- Shows ATR centers, sample counts and current ATR, highlighting the current cluster
Signal confirmation
Bullish shift ▲
Direction changes from bearish to bullish; an open-candle arrow can change or disappear
Bearish shift ▼
Direction changes from bullish to bearish; confirm the final state after the close
Volatility shift
The current ATR moves into another cluster; this alone does not specify a trade direction
How to use it
- 01
Wait for warmup history to finish loading before reading the indicator
- 02
Read price relative to the trend line, then look for a direction change
- 03
Use the table to interpret volatility; a high level is not a stronger buy signal
- 04
Confirm arrows after the close and match data, timeframe, session and settings when comparing platforms
Open-candle arrows and volatility levels are not definite trade instructions. Insufficient history, time-share views and independent trade replay do not provide warmed indicator results
Parameter guide
Period used for Average True Range
Volatility multiplier used for the bands
Rolling history used for clustering
Positions within the ATR minimum-to-maximum range, not statistical percentiles
0 is opaque and 100 is fully transparent; display only
Colors for lines, fills and markers
Independent display switches that do not change calculations
Additional compatibility setting. Keep the default for original-script parity; retaining the previous center changes degenerate cases
